Members Visit to Bletchley Park

14th November 2017 @ 10:00 - 17:00

STAPLEFORD HISTORY SOCIETY

Excursion to Bletchley Park, 14 November 2017

We’ve booked a coach for a visit to the codebreaking museum at Bletchley Park on Tuesday 14 November.  The coach will leave from Stapleford Recreation Ground at 10 am, and return at about 5 pm.

The excursion includes coach travel and admission.  Also included is a guided tour, which you sign up for on arrival, and a multi-media tour (like an audio-guide with pictures) which enables you to roam around independently.  There are the huts showing how different aspects of the codebreaking operation were carried out.  There’s the national museum of computing.  There are various special exhibitions, one of which is about Bill Tutte, the subject of our talk in January.  Refreshments are not included: there are two cafes on site.

The cost for all this will be £25 per person.  Cheques should be made payable to Stapleford History Society.

To book your place, contact Wendy Elsbury, at 7 Anvil Close, Stapleford, Cambs CB22 5SS, or by phone on 844559.  We would like to receive payment with your booking, but we won’t pay in any cheques until we’ve reached sufficient numbers to be sure the excursion is viable (if it’s not, naturally we’ll return your money).

Please encourage friends and family to join you: all will be very welcome, and we’re keen to fill the coach.  It should be a fascinating day.
